Dungeonbound
A downloadable game for Windows
Dungeonbound is a simple 2d RPG where you as a New Hero must explore the world and find a way into the deepest parts of the dungeon.
But be careful! Some enemies might be a bit much for you, so don't be afraid to discard your warrior's pride to tuck tail and runaway when the going gets tough!
Features:
- Turn-Based Combat
- Assortments of traps and gimmicks
- 12 different enemies + a Final Boss!
- Music, Sound effects, and more!
This game was built using Golang with a lot of the heavy lifting done with the Raylib library.
I was the only developer in the making of this game. Sleepless nights and 24-hour shifts near the end. The hours flew by without me realizing T-T
I can say without a doubt that making this game was incredibly fun and fulfilling for me. I tend to have the habit of sticking to things when I have a certain idea so a lot of the code in my game were all thought up, designed, and balanced by yours truly. Not a smart decision when it comes to game making, but I was just so excited to work on something all on my own.
If I were to do something like this again, I would want to work on a team instead. Takes a load off and would allow me to really get all my ideas out of my head before the time limit is up. Even now, there are things that I want to add to the game to make it better, more interesting, and QOL features that unfortunately didn't make it inside the game. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the game!
Plot:
You are a young hero on a journey to prove yourself! Explore the world and dive deep into the monster filled Dungeon!
Dungeons tend to have lots of little treasures inside, so be sure to find all the dungeon keys!
Who knows what you'll find!
Feel free to comment and give a review! this is my first published game so I hope I at least am able to make your eyes widen with some of the cool things I've put together

After playing for a while, I really liked a lot of stuff shown in the game. First, I quite liked the aesthetic of the game being tile-based and turn-based along with some pixel art/animations. What I really like was how dynamic the dungeon felt. Having different enemies, real-time traps, and dim rooms really helped with the immersion of the game, which is something I strive to do for myself.
The game looks and feels like a nice baseline for a 2d dungeon crawler, I see lots of potential in this one. The animations are also pretty nice too!
Appreciate small things like being able to see player and enemy stats to quickly assess the battle difficulty as well as run success rates being visible
I think it's very charming, I like it for the most part. The fighting can be very monotonous, I got stuck fighting an Orc for like 10 minutes. I didn't get very far, but I am interested to see where you might go with this.
